As choir members, our goal is to offer prayer through song that gives expression to God’s love. To sing God’s praise during the liturgy is to contribute to the celebration of the Eucharist. We warrant the name “Music Ministry” by leading the congregation as we lift our voices in unison to the Lord.

Our Summer Rehearsal Schedule 

If you love to sing, you’ll love being part of the adult choir-and we’d love to have you. Why not give some thought to joining us? We need both male and female voices in every range from soprano to bass (in case you haven’t noticed, we are doing much of the music in four parts nowadays).

We also are learning new songs and dusting off some traditional ones you haven’t heard in a while. In fact, as a choir member, you’ll have a chance to sing really beautiful sacred music including songs written by our own Kathe deRose.

Worried about the initiation period-catching up to choir members who have been around a while, learning the music, getting to know the ropes? Don’t be! We have a friendly buddy system and people eager to help you get acquainted. Any kind of additional help you may need is available. Trust us; we understand the hesitation in making a commitment you may later regret. Choir membership means rehearsals on most Thursday nights. We suggest you think about it (don’t take too long though), talk to choir members and come by for a visit. We’ll tell you everything you want to know and we’ll be happy to have you try us out, with no commitment. Now, doesn’t that make us sound confident?

The adult choir practices every Thurday evening at 7:30pm and sings at Saturday and Sunday masses, Remember, every current choir member was once the new kid on the block. We welcome your genuine interest in singing and your conviction that song offered to God is prayer.

Lazarus Choir

SAS Choir
